Little Owen

Just thought we'd put some pictures of Owen up. He's getting pretty big - hard to imagine he's almost two years old. While still a Mama's Boy, he's becoming more and more independent. He knows what "naughty" means and he knows how to be "naughty." But he's also figuring out how to get away with stuff. And because he's such a cute little guy, it's hard to get mad at him. Hope he doesn't grow up too fast...

Melissa the big mouth!!!

In Cheney every year we go to a Rodeo parade. The kids loved it when they would throw them candy. There was this lady next to us who was so rude. OK so we get there and when the parade started they went to set on the curb to see better. But this lady next to us was getting mad at the kids. She goes up to them and tells them this isn't right, that this is there spot they've been there since 9am and her kids are setting there first and just going off on them and not to us! I'm not the one to say anything in situations like this one I would have just moved but Adam said something to her then Melissa gets in to it. I was actually laughing. Melissa says to the kids "kids you can't sit there this lady bought this space!" It was so funny. So then it starts an argument and the guy sitting next to her gets in on it, on her side. I mean this lady was so rude. Oh then her mom, I think it was her mom, she was in a motor car thing and she moves over to the side so the kids had less room. This lady was so worried that her kids weren't going to see anything and get candy. Which was ridiculous because it was a parade in a small town. Not a lot of people were there. You can see everything no matter were you sit! Melissa turned this into a "sharing" lesson for the kids and why its important to be nice to other people and share! Brooklyn said she was going to tell the lady "its nice to share".
Later that day we saw Wall-e and when we got back I put Lily in the bath and put the jets on and forgot that I put soap in there and well you can see what happened. The kids thought it was pretty funny. They all wanted to jump in.

This weekend Melissa and Trent came up. Of course the first night the wrestling began, on our bed! I don't know what it is about our bed but all the kids navigate to our bed to wrestle. They had to all sleep together, so we put them in the playroom. They went to bed about 10 and woke up about 6! They were just so excited to be together. The next day we went to a water park. It ended up not being as fun as we thought. The water was ice cold and it wasn't even 80 degree's out and with a little breeze it made it harder to get into the water and it was way over priced. I mean it was fun but we'll never go back. We'll go somewhere else next time.
Paige and Lily switched places, Lily wore Paige's clothes and they pretended to be each other. It was cute. Usually when the kids get together they all fight over Brooklyn, who gets to sit by her, who gets to sleep by her...but no one did that this time. It was Riley and Brooklyn who played together, Paige and Lily, and Otto and Owen. They had a lot of fun. And Ruby loved Adam!!! Yeah go figure, I'm the one who watched her for a week. She did come right to me when she saw me though so that was nice.

Baseball season

Another season of baseball. This year Adam coached Riley's baseball team. I don't think he'll do it again. He said it was to stressful. Riley is having fun though. He made a double play last agame. It was really fun to see. He's one of the best kids on the team again and I'm not just saying that cuz he's my son, he is one of the best on his team! He pitched for the first time and he did really well but he didn't think so. On the way home he was in one of "his" moods and being really negative and saying he doesn't want to play baseball next year. Well that was like a stab in Adams heart when he heard that. So Adam had a talk with him and told him that when he was younger he played lots of bad games and Ichiro has bad games. He seemed a little better after. I think he'll still be nervous to pitch.
This year was kinda hard with Owen because he's walking this year. One game he ran into the game twice. My mother-n-law came to a game and she said Owen came running up to her with a red face then I came running up to her with a red face. She thought it was funny.

happy 4th of July!

This year for the 4th of July we went to Glacier National park in Montana. It was a lot of fun. Ont eh way there was not so fun. 3 out of 3 kids have thrown up on road trips at the same age! Owen threw up only after about 30 minutes on the road. Riley and Paige did the same thing. (Andy remember the trip to Georgia?) I should have thought about giving him motion sickness medicine, but I didn't. He also threw up again when we were coming down from the Going to the Sun mountain. Yeah not fun. Apparently they get this from their dad!!! Adam did the same thing at their age.

I'm one who has to see fireworks on the 4th. So I was a little bummed about going to Montana because I didn't think we were going to see fireworks. But we actually saw the BEST firework show we've ever seen. We went to a town called Hungry Horse. They didn't have commercial fireworks everyone just brought their own. It was like a big party in the street. Fireworks were going off all around us. We had some go off right above our heads. it was pretty cool. It was to loud for Owen and Henry. Owen actually fell asleep. ( just a little side note-the baby on Riley is not mine, I wish she was. That's Adalyn, Jordan and Abbie's baby.)

montana cont...

OK this is the only picture we got of the cabin and Riley took it. They were really nice they even had A/C even though ours wasn't working. It fits 14 people on 2 floors with 2 baths and 2 TVs. Which if you know the Tait's they like to watch their sports! There was a pond in front where you can fish. No one caught anything but they had fun. We also went white water rafting. Which I have to admit I was pretty nervous. Tanner and I almost didn't go but we sucked it up anyway and we're glad we did. It was so much fun. Adam and Jordan were in the front and Abby and I were behind them and then Kyle and Amy and Tanner and Duane and the instructor in the very back. Of course we got wet the most. It was a good thing I've been doing push ups every day because I didn't realize we ALL had to paddle! It was a good work out. It was hard when you go over the rapids and your paddle or ore or what ever it is would get out of sink with the other paddles around you and you hit the other paddles around you. It was pretty funny. They said it was pretty calm this year. I'm glad it was.

There were so many water falls. There was one the "weeping rocks" (self explanatory) you pretty much drive right under the water fall. The kids liked that one. In the pictures you can see the dark clouds coming in and on our way down the mountain lighting hit and it was so loud. It sounded like it hit right behind us. It was pretty scary.

This is what it looks like when you got to the top of Going to the Sun Mountain. This year it had snow, last year there were wild flowers every where. It was so pretty. They had just finished plowing it the day before. You can see how high the snow was. It was pretty cold too. It was actually nice getting out of the heat though.

Here's the mountain goat we saw and the ram. Paige started to run right up to it. She probably could have touched it if I hadn't of called for her to stop. You can see it's losing the winter coat. Owen didn't like it. Every time it came closer he would tense up. Riley and Paige thought it was cool to see it so close.

All the boys and Amy went fishing. Riley was mad because he wasn't catching anything so he decided to take pictures. Look at how beautiful the scenery is.

Every time we come here we go up a mountain on a road called "Going to the sun" I think thats what its called. It's called that because you keep going and going and going up. It is the prettiest drive I have ever seen. Its scary though. Its 2 lanes and you are literally driving next to the cliff. In one of the pictures you can see the car mirror and the side wall and I can look out the window and see all the way down the mountain. The first time we went up there I was so nervous to look out the window. Adams knuckles were white by the time we got to the top from driving. But going up you see a lot of wild life. This trip we saw a moose, dear, a ram and mountain goats. The kids loved it. Once you get to the top you see a field of wild flowers well actually this time we saw snow but it was still so pretty. I never thought mountains were very pretty to look at until we came here. That one picture of Adam and I, thats the wall that divides us from the edge. Some places have smaller walls. It gets pretty scary. So if your afraid of heights don't go but if you love the thrill you'll love it. The veiw is worth the drive though. In the 2nd to last picture if you look closely by the river you'll see a road next to it. Thats the road we drive up on and we weren't even all the way to the top yet!
